In spite of the cold, windy weather, FOBL’s annual Gingerbread Decorating Event at the Bayfield Library on Saturday, December 4th was a “sweet” success. For the second Covid-19 year in a row, we were unable to gather inside for this event. Fingers crossed for next year!
Nearly 150 Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Kits were handed out to happy children, parents, and grandparents. How fitting that December 4th was also National Cookie Day!
Each kit contained a gingerbread cookie with all the fixings to decorate a yummy masterpiece at home, along with a tree ornament craft and several other sweet surprises. Special thanks to the Village Bookshop for their generous donation of two $25 gift certificates for the draw that was part of our event. FOBL is happy to report that the winners of the gift certificates were a young boy and a young girl from Bayfield.
Parents (and grandparents too!) are invited to send photos of the finished cookie “masterpieces” or tree ornament crafts to contact@fobl.ca. The photos will be posted on the FOBL Facebook page over the following week. We’ll post as many as we can. For privacy reasons, no photos of children will be posted.
