Our Virtual Saturdays at the Library speaker series continues.
Please join us by Zoom on Saturday, November 27th at 10:30 a.m. as we welcome our next speaker, local historian and genealogist Colleen Maguire. Colleen will introduce us to the photography of Huron County native Reuben R. Sallows, who came to be known as a “Canadian Photographic Genius.” He travelled across Canada with his camera on his back, preserving a bygone era. Explore the world of Reuben R. Sallows, whose photographs provide a valuable depiction of life in Canada from 1881 to 1937.
Colleen Maguire has spent many years researching the life of Reuben R. Sallows. She was instrumental in establishing the Reuben R. Sallows Gallery at the Goderich Public Library in 2001. Colleen is a recipient of both the Governor General’s History Award for Community Programming and the Huron Arts and Heritage Network’s Heritage Award.
